Charles O'Connor, Esq.
New York.
Sir:
I have the honor to enclose a copy of the letter I have this day addressed to S. Ferguson Beach, Esq. U. S. Attorney for the District of Virginia, and to ask your attention to the fact that the term of the Court commences on Monday the 23d instant, and not on the 25th, as in conversation with you I believe I have named as the day for the beginning of the term of the court.
Mr. Beach will be in attendance at Richmond, prepared to arrange for the trial, with such counsel as shall represent the defendant there, in conformity to the suggestions of my letter to him.
I have the honor to be,
Very respectfully,
Wm. M. Evarts.
Attorney General.
