Sir:

The Attorney General directs me, in accordance with the request contained in your letter of the 23d inst. to transmit to you the enclosed copies of telegraphic despatches from this office to the U. S. Dist. Attorney at Mobile, dated May 23d and June 25th 1866, relative to cotton claimed by the Planter's Factory.
