To the President of the Union Pacific Railroad Company.

Sir:

I herewith hand you the declaration and agreement required from the Union Pacific Railroad Company, in respect of the deposit of their first mortgage Bonds, as a guarantee for the completion of their Road, for execution by said Company, in order to entitle them to the receipt of the Bonds of the United States, to be issued to them upon the completion of successive sections of their road. Also, a form of letter to accompany the deposit of each parcel of said bonds under said agreement, and a letter to the Secretary of the Interior in respect to the lands of the said Company, in connection with the same arrangement.
