Sir:
I have rec'd notice from Mr. Spinner, Treasurer of the U. S. of the deposit with him, by the Union Pacific RR. Co., of Sixteen hundred (1600) first mortgage bonds, of one thousand dollars each, of the said Company, subject to the arrangement had with said company, as guarantee for the proper completion of the structure & equipment to be executed by said company requiring some little modification, which has been undertaken to be promptly completed by the representatives of the Company. I beg to say that the bonds of the U. S., which the Company is entitled to receive, upon the acceptance of the two sections of their road, just passed upon by the President, may be delivered to Mr. Oakes Ames, and Mr. E. H. Rollins, the representatives of the Company.
