Feb. 18, 1869. Hon. Caleb Cushing, Washington, D. C. Sir: I have rec'd your letter of to-day, expressing a wish of Gen. Butler for a conference with me Saturday next in reference to the case of Kimberley vs. Butler, in defence of which action the intervention of the Att. Gen. has been asked. I beg to name Saturday at 11 o'clock for the desired conference, and rely upon you to advise Gen. Butler of this appointment. I have the honor to be, &c &c. Wm. M. Evarts, Attorney Gen.
