Sir:
I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 24th inst., requesting me to instruct the U. S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, to appear and defend, on account of the P. O. Dept. a suit brought by Albert Potto and John B. Murray ag't Alex. W. Randall, Postmaster Gen'l. for an alleged infringement of their letters to a certain street letter box.
I have sent a copy of your letter, with the accompanying bill of complaint, to the Dist. Attorney, with instructions to comply with your request.
