Secretary of the Interior.

Sir:

I have the honor to transmit herewith the account, approved by me, and amounting to Fifteen hundred dollars, of H. H. Wells, for services as counsel in the Circuit Court of the U. S. for the Dist. of Virginia, in the case of the U. S. ag't Jefferson Davis; and to request its payment from the appropriate fund.
