Hon. John A. Rawlins,

Secretary of War.

Sir:

In reply to your letter of this date, I have the honor to state that dispatch was sent by telegraph, April 30, ultimo, to S. D. Dickson, Dep. U. S. Marshal at Savannah, Geo., directing him to suspend the sale of the Laboratory property, at Macon, Geo. for one month.
