Sir:

The Attorney General directs me to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 10th inst. relative to the case of the United States vs. 6 Lots of ground, property of T. J. Semmes; and to say that he has forwarded to the U. S. Attorney at New Orleans instructions in the case, a copy of which will be furnished to you on your application to him.
