Hon. Geo. S. Boutwell,

Secretary of the Treasury.

Sir:

I have the honor to request that you will issue a warrant on the Treasurer of the United States in favor of Bushrod Birch, Esq. Disbursing Clerk, Treasury Department, for the sum of Twenty eight hundred and seventy two dollars and eight cents, ($2872:08,)—and charge the same to the appropriation for salaries of the Attorney General, Assistant Attorneys General, Clerks and Messenger, of this office.
