S. Harwood, Jr. Esq.

723 Arch st. Philadelphia.

Sir:

The Acting Attorney General directs me to acknowledge your letters of July 21, and 10th instant, and to say in reply that the general question of the right of Revenue officers to claim as informers is now before him—but no particular cases. He has no information as to the case of your client.

Very respectfully,

M. F. Pleasants,

Chief Clerk.

Revenue officers as informers.
