October 16, 1869.

Messrs. Ranney & Bolton.

Cleveland, Ohio.

Sirs:

I have received your letter of the 13th inst. relative to the suit in the Supreme Court of Bassett & Hager, vs. The United States.

This October session is a part of the December Term, 1868, and the case last spring was marked "continued."—It would be agreeable to me to have this entry stand, and to argue the case early in next December.

Very respectfully,

E. R. Hoar,

Attorney General.
