Jacksonville, Fla.

Sir:

I am directed by the Attorney General to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 27th ult., in relation to the late Marshal, Mr. Magruder, and to say that no action can be taken in the case until the arrival of the communication of the U. S. District Attorney on the subject, mentioned therein.
