December 2, 1869. Hon. W. W. Belknap, Secretary of War. Sir: I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 16th ult. in relation to the claim of the Danville, Lancaster, & Nicholasville Turnpike Road Company, and in accordance with your oral request, I return the papers accompanying it without an opinion.
