December 16, 1869. Hon. John M. Crebs, House of Representatives. Sir: In reply to your inquiry of the 9th inst, I have to inform you that the evidence of title to the United States of the property occupied as a naval station at Mound City, Illinois, is not on file in this office, nor has it been submitted to me. Very respectfully, E. R. Hoar, Attorney General.
