Secretary of State.

Sir:

I have the honor to transmit herewith for your information a letter from the U. S. Attorney for the Northern District of New York, dated the 20th inst. enclosing a copy of a letter from Sumner L. Hazen, Deputy U. S. Marshal, in relation to Fenian movements in that District.
