St. Louis, Mo.

Sir:

In reply to your inquiry of the 12th inst. I have to say that your letter of the 19th ult. in relation to the title to a portion of the Jefferson Barracks Military Reservation near St. Louis, was received on the 22d ultimo. and on the same day transmitted to the Secretary of War, and his attention called to your bill for services and expenses.

You will please accept my thanks for the manner in which those services were rendered.
