Washington, D. C.

Sir:

I desire to retain you in behalf of the United States, as counsel in suit No. 204, John Roland & J. S. Hornsby, appellants, vs. the United States, now pending in the Supreme Court of the United States. I enclose a transcript of record.

As this case may be reached during the present term of the Court, it is desirable that the brief be got ready as soon as it conveniently can be.
