Sir:

The Attorney General directs me to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 12th inst., and to say that your previous letter of the 8th ult. was also duly received, and referred to the 2d Auditor of the Treasury, that being the officer who has jurisdiction over its subject-matter.
