Hon. J. A.J. Creswell,
Postmaster General.
Sir:
I have received the Report of Mr. Maynard, District Attorney for the Eastern District of Michigan, who was sent, at the request of your Department, to Philadelphia, to investigate the case of Jessup & Moore, in order to determine what course justice required to be taken in relation to the indictment pending against them. He has also transmitted his bill for services and expenses.
I forward copies of his letter and report, and the bill, for the information and action of your Department.
Very respectfully,
E. R. Hoar,
