June 17, 1870. Hon. Geo. S. Boutwell, Secretary of the Treasury. Sir: I have the honor to request that you will issue a warrant on the Treasurer of the United States in favor of Bushrod Birch, Esq. Disbursing Clerk, Treasury Department, for the sum of $2808,38, and charge the same to the appropriations for the salaries of the of the Attorney General, Assistant Attorneys General, Clerks and Messenger of this Office, for June, 1870. Very respectfully, your obedient servant, E. R. Hoar, Attorney General.
