Hon. Hamilton Fish,

Secretary of State.

Sir:

In accordance with the request contained in your letter of the 12th inst. I have the honor to return herewith a note of the 6th inst. and the documents by which it was accompanied, addressed to the Department of State by Mr. Lopez Roberts, Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary of Spain, in relation to the steamer Hornet.
