Mr. Thomas H. Wright,

Washington, D. C.

Sir:

You are hereby employed to assist in this Department by clerical, and other required labor, in defending suits against the Secretary of the Treasury, or his agents, for the seizure of captured and abandoned property, and in defending the United States in respect of such property, in the Court of Claims; and you will act for the present under the direction of Thomas H. Talbot, Esq. Assistant Attorney General. Your compensation will be at the rate of One hundred dollars per month, to begin from the 10th instant.
