Sir:
A letter has this day been received from Mr. Hickenlooper, the present U. S. Marshal of the Southern District of Ohio, requesting that you be instructed to take possession of the office on the first day of January next.
You are accordingly requested to qualify for that office, to which you have been lately appointed, and enter upon the discharge of its duties at the time above mentioned.
