Secretary of the Treasury.

Sir:

I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 19th inst., and to inform you that I have directed the Attorney of the U. S. at St. Louis to at once comply with the regulations of your Department by furnishing a list of the furniture now in his office, to the Surveyor of customs.
