Messrs. Frank M. Pixley, and L. D. Latimer,

San Francisco, Cal.

Gentlemen:

I have received your letter of the 6th instant, relative to the case of Charles E. Pickett, vs. S. O. Hastings, et al. and request that you will be pleased to render your account for retainer and services in the case to this Department, when it will receive prompt attention.

Should the defendant appeal to the Supreme Court of California it is the desire of the Attorney General that you shall appear in that Court, and defend the judgment of the Court below.
