Sir:
In answer to your letter of this date, I have the honor to inform you that R. M. Corwine, Esq. has, according to your request, been commissioned as special assistant to the U. S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, in cases No. 191 and 192, on the Admiralty docket of the District Court for said District—and that he has been informed that his previous representation of the Government in those cases, since the Act to establish the Department of Justice took effect, is recognized by this Department as having been properly authorized.
