Sir:
I have the honor to inform you that the papers referred to in your note of the 5th instant, relating to the tract of land used as a National Cemetery at Salisbury, N. C., transmitted by me to the Secretary of War, with an opinion in which the deed of the premises to the Government from Joseph Kerah and wife is pronounced sufficient to pass a valid title.
