May 22, 1871. Messrs. Pike & Johnson, Attorneys at Law, Washington, D. C. Sirs: The enclosed copy of a letter from me to the District Attorney of the Western District of Arkansas, will disclose to you my action in reference to your application in reference for a dismissal of the criminal proceedings against Elias C.
