June 7, 1869. Eben F. Colby, Esq. 134 La Salle st. Chicago, Ill. Sir: Your letter of the 3d inst. has been received. The Attorney General directs me to say that the case referred to is one in which he has no official duty to perform. The information in your possession should be laid before the U. S.
