Sir, You are hereby retained as special assistant to the Attorney of the United States for the District of Massachusetts in the prosecution of the cases against Dexter F. Mills et al. You will take and transmit to this Department the oath required by law. Your compensation for this service will be hereafter determined by this Department. Very respectfully B. H.
