Lockport, N. Y.

Sir:

I am directed by the Attorney General to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 21st instant, relative to the case of The United States, vs. A. G. Williams, charged with murder, and also your acc't for certain expenses incurred by you in regard to a case under direction of this Department—and to inform you that the acc't has been approved, and referred to the accounting officers of the Treasury for adjustment.
