Nov. 7, 1871, E. S. Kearney, Esq. U. S. Marshal, Walla Walla Washington Terr. Sir: I have received your letter of the 17th ultimo, requesting leave of absence from your Territory for the months of January and December next. It appearing from your statement that the business of the office will be done by deputies in your absence, and that the absence is desired for good causes, the leave is granted. Very respectfully, A. T. Akerman, Attorney General.
