The letter of Wm Magill Fleming, Esq. of Nov. 7th, with your postscript, in relation to the case of Benjamin F. Bates, has been received. The matter has been referred to the District Attorney of South Carolina, with instructions to release Mr. Bates on bail if the statements of Mr. Fleming shall be ascertained to be correct.
