Nov. 16, 1871. H. E. Hudson, Esq. U. S. Attorney, Memphis, Tenn. Sir: Your letter of the 9th ins't. against M. Coombs, Jr. Claim Agent, for alleged withholding of bounty money belonging to W. H. Cloudman, late a Federal soldier, has been received. Your explanation of the disposition of that case, is entirely satisfactory to this Department. Very respectfully, A. T. Akerman, Attorney General.
