Sir:
Messrs. Stevens & Haynes, of London, in a communication of the 29th ultimo, inform the Attorney General that they have shipped per steamer, (name not given,) for the Department of Justice to your care, four (4) cases of law books; the invoice of which, with the consular certificate attached, is herewith enclosed.
I will thank you to get these books from the Custom House at your earliest convenience, and send them by express to Washington.
