Aug. 16, 1871. Messrs, Lewis & Gurney, Attorneys at Law, Buffalo, N. Y. Sirs: In answer to your letter of the 12th instant, I have to say that I know no statute providing for the claim of your client unless it is included in the class of claims under cognizance of the Southern Claims Commission.
