Aug. 30, 1871. Hon. V. C. Barringer, Tremont House, Boston, Mass. Sir: I have just returned from Philadelphia, and find your letter of the 16th instant upon my desk. A requisition for the amount of your salary for the present month will be drawn to-day, and I will request Mr. Conant, in charge of the Warrant Room, to have the draft mailed to you immediately. Very respectfully, A. T. Akerman, Attorney General.
