Sept. 6, 1871. E. C. Ford, Esq. Sec. Ohio, Rep. Ass'n. Washington, D. C. Sir: I am directed by the Attorney General to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 5th instant, and in reply to say that the clerks in this Department who may desire to go to Ohio to vote at the coming election, will be granted a sufficient time to enable them to reach that State, vote, and return.
