Sept. 9, 1871. John E. Pound, Esq. Lockport, N. Y. Sir: In pursuance of the recommendation of the U. S. Attorney for the Northern District of New York, your compensation from and after the 1st day of October next will be at the rate of Two thousand dollars, ($2000) per annum. Very respectfully, A. T. Akerman, Attorney General.
