Sir:
I am directed by the Solicitor General and Acting Attorney General to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 5th instant, and to return the copy of the charter of the "Importing and Exporting Company of the State of Georgia," which was transmitted by you to this Department some time since.
I regret the delay in returning this paper, but it was occasioned by the absence from the city of the gentleman having the matter in charge.
