Dec. 11, 1871. William Stone, Esq. Charleston, S. C. Sir: You are hereby appointed Assistant to the District Attorney for South Carolina with a salary of Two thousand dollars, ($2000), per annum, to commence on the 14th instant. You will take and transmit to this Department the oath required of District Attorneys. Very respectfully, A. T. Akerman, Attorney General.
