Hon. J. G. Palen, Chief Justice, &c.

Elizabethtown, Colfax Co. New Mexico.

Sir:

I have received your letter of the 3d instant, repeating your request for a leave of absence.

On the 22d of March last, I answered your former letter in a communication, of which I enclose a copy.

The decision therein expressed is adhered to.

The action of the Department is in accordance with the Executive order, a copy of which I enclose.
