Hon. Thomas Boles

House of Representatives.

Sir:

I have received yours of the 1st instant, and have suggested to the Secretary of the Interior that he defer the sale of the Fort Smith reservation until Congress shall have an opportunity to reserve enough of the land for the purposes of the U.S. Courts.
