May 9, 1871. Hon. Hamilton Fish, Secretary of State. Sir: I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 8th inst., inclosing the pardons of Charles Heydt, and William H. Rhode, which I shall immediately forward to Colonel Whitely at New York. Very respectfully, &c. A. T. Akerman, Attorney General.
