May 11, 1871. Hon. T. H. Talbot, Assistant Attorney General, Washington, D. C. Sir: Senator Spencer has requested a favor in the case of Carlisle vs. Henderson, vs. The United States, No. 2615 on the Court of Claims docket, to wit, that printed briefs may be filed by the parties, for the purpose of obtaining a decision at this term.
