Sir:
In pursuance of the request in your letter of the 2d instant, I have the honor to inform you that the District Attorney for the Southern District of New York has been directed to commence proceedings against C. H. Bond, for the recovery of the amount of his indebtedness to the United States for ordnance property,—and to apply to Major Silas Crispin for the necessary information and papers.
