Sir:
Referring to your letter of the 15th ultimo, asking for information relative to private land claims, I have the honor to enclose herewith a copy of a letter upon this subject addressed to this Department under date of the 11th instant, by James S. Botsford, Esq. the Attorney of the United States for the Western District of Missouri; also, a copy of a letter to Mr. Botsford relative to such private land claims from Adam Peabody, Esq., the clerk for the District Court of the United States for said District.
