Referring to my letter to you under date of the 24th ult. relative to the escape from jail of the mail-robber Gilmore, I now have the honor to enclose a copy of a letter addressed to this Department, under date of the 8th instant by the Marshal of the United States for the Western District of Missouri upon this subject.
