Sir:
I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 30th instant, enclosing therein the receipted account of James P. Newcomb, Esq. for $101, for expenses incurred in obtaining the deposition of Capt. James Speed; and to inform you that a draft for the amount thereof has been sent by this day's mail to Mr. Newcomb, of Austin, Texas.
